Arthur Masterson Succumbs At 84, Final Rites Sunday

Winamac — Funeral services for Arthur Edward Masterson (1881-1966), 84, of 222 East Washington Street, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fry and Lange Funeral Home here with burial in Pulaski Presbyterian Cemetery.

He died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday at a hospital in Westville.

A lifetime resident of Pulaski county, he was a retired livestock dealer.

Born June 29, 1881, in Beaver township, he was the son of James Masterson (1857-1947) and Clara (Straw) Masterson (1862-1934). His first marriage was to Dora E. M. (Good) Masterson (1882-1954), who died April 24, 1954. He was married to Mary Pearl (Markley) Straw, Masterson (1888-1979), March 27, 1956. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Delvie Richard Masterson (1911-1974), of Winamac three stepdaughters, Mrs. Marjorie I. (Straw) Bair (1911-2003), Mrs. Mary Irene (Straw) Combs (1914-1998) and Mrs. Hazel Maxine (Straw) Seidel (1918-1993), all of Winamac; two sisters, Mrs. Elva (Masterson) Good (?-?) of Middlebury and Mrs. May (Masterson) Good (?-?) of Winamac; a grandson; four great-grandchildren and a step-great grandchild.
