In 1871, Nancy is enumerated with her husband and their children in the Pugwash polling district.[4] Her husband is a widower in the 1891 census.[5]

Duncan and Jane Matheson's family is mentioned in Ward's Farms and Farmers series in segments on their grandsons Charles H. Matheson (son of William),[2] and C. Tupper Matheson (son of Neil).[3] Nancy (the aunt of the featured farmers) is mentioned as marrying John McArthur of Wilkins Grant, and later of Cumberland Co.
