There are no contemporary records for Malcolm however he may be traced in the crofting histories and genealogies. Mac Gille Chalium[1] does not give dates. Based on the births of his children, starting from 1790-1793, it is estimated he was born some time in the 1760s.

He was the son of Calum Matheson and Ann Mackay[2].

He married Henrietta Cameron[2]. They had five children.

No death has been found. As his youngest child was born some time between 1801-1810, he must have died after 1800.
