Biography
A daughter (?) of Iain Matheson. There were MacDonalds in Hacklete, Bernera, who claimed descent from John Matheson (Iain Arainis), tacksman of Arinish, in a female line. We have seen that sons of John Matheson were brought up by relatives, and also that he had a sister married to the tacksman of Hacklete; so the presence of a daughter of his in Hacklete could be accounted for in a similar way. Norman MacDonald (Tormod Ruadh), ancestor of these Hacklete MacDonalds, would be a contemporary of such a daughter, who may have been his wife [1].
