Joséphine (Mathieu) Labrecque migrated from Canada to United States.
Joséphine Mathieu was born 31 August 1894 in Notre-Dame-Auxiliatrice-de-Buckland ("Buckland"), and was baptized the following day. She was the daughter of Théophile Mathieu,
a farmer, and Marie Gagnon. Her godparents were Cyrille Ruel and Célina Boissonneault.[1] She married Cyrille Labrecque on 7 September 1920 in Buckland.[2] Joséphine and Cyrille had 15 children, most of whom were born in Buckland.[3] The family permanently relocated to Manchester, New Hampshire in 1934. Joséphine died on 30 May 1988 in Manchester, New Hampshire, at 93 years of age.[4] She is buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, New Hampshire.[5]
↑ Family recollection is that the couple had 15 children, though records only appear to exist for 14 of them. It is possible that they had an unrecorded birth in 1926.
