Here is my family tree.
I have been interested in genealogy since I was a teen listening to family stories. I just wish I'd known to ask questions and write things down! So, that's what I've been doing for 40 years...writing things down. After my husband and I married, I wanted to know which of our relatives aimed across the battlefield at the other in the Civil War. His family on the South's side, mine on the North's. I found at least one incident, in Vicksburg. We both had an uncle and a grandfather there. His grandfather (1819-1863) was buried on the battlefield and my uncle (1839-1863) died of his wounds later in a hospital. His 3rd great-grandfather left a widow and young children; my 2nd great-grandfather went home to start a family. Genealogy makes history personal.

Hi! I've been working on my family tree for more than 30 years. It is usually just a weekend project because of other responsibilities. I also enjoy learning where my family fit in history. I've found so many interesting things in history where my family would have had first had knowledge, I wish I would have known these things when I was still in school! I did find that my family and my husband's family most likely stared across the battlefield at each other in Vicksburg! If they had only known, huh!
I will abide by WikiTree's rules and gladly add to the information as accurately as I can.
