== Biography == I've been interested in history for as long as I can remember. Than I found out that you can research your ancestors and that got me thinking. One side of the family there was a rumor/story that we come from a line of rulers making us royalty. I wanted to prove/disprove that. Unfortunately I have barely any names on my Puerto Rican side. Than my mom's side, the story was we come from all over but were mostly german and something else. I wanted to find out what we were. I started a long time ago working on my tree and getting info off my 2nd cousin but he didn't know much and he didn't know my nana's side. So I gave up for a while. Now I'm back with a vengeance and have gotten further then I ever thought possible.

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi again,

I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!

If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

REMINDERS: (1) We use Google Groups for project collaboration and you aren’t yet a member of the group, please submit a join request here (make sure to add your name/WikiTree ID to the request). (2) I see you've added German_Roots (our old project name) to your G2G tags, you should also add GERMANY to your followed G2G tags so you don't miss any discussions in G2G (see: Help:Tags#How_to_follow_tags Help:Tags).

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

Hi Danielle,

We're sad to inform you that the Black Sheep Project is being dissolved. All BSP's subprojects will be moved in pieces under the Notables Project as categories and perhaps as Teams, depending on interest. Witch Trials will become a subproject of Notables.

Your BSP project member badge will soon be removed. If you'd like to join the Notables project, please let one of us know and we'll get you a Notables badge.

Please email either of us if you have any questions and if you'd like to join the Notables project.

Thanks, Susan McNamee & Traci Thiessen ~co-leaders, Black Sheep Project

Hi Danielle,

It has been a few weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Disasters (and Titanic) Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.

We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

Regards Joan

Hi Danielle,

On behalf of the Disasters (and Titanic) Project Leaders we are carrying out a check-in to see how all the members are doing and taking the opportunity to thank you for all your hard work in the past.

We have recently made a lot of changes. We are changing the focus of the project to include more about people involved in disasters and the effect it had on them and their families. We have divided the project into teams. Please have a look https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Disasters

Please let me know, by comment on my profile or a private message, whether you are still active in the project, and which team(s) you would like to work with. What are you enjoying most about being in the project? What would you like to see improved or changed?

We're looking forward to hearing back from you,

Joan and Lizzie

Hi Danielle,

Thanks for your message re third class passengers. The likelyhood is they still need sourcing and or connecting. Also when you do come across profiles it’s worth checking that the bio hasn’t been copy and pasted from Encyclopaedia Titanica, this has been an issue with a number of profiles and the bios have had to be rewritten. Thank you for all your work on the victims of the disaster :-) Lizzie

Danielle:

I posted the information about Francisco Matías Vega on the June 12th post. He was born on 11th May 1894 in Añasco, son of Manuel Matías Rosado and Micaela Vega Rodríguez. His 4 grandparents were Paternal: Lorenzo Matías and Juana Rosado Maternal: Juan Bautista Vega and Rosa Rodríguez

Here is his birth record: http://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9Q97-YS5K-8H8?i=954&cc=1682798 _______________ I am related to several Matías. However, your tree needs a few generations before we can look for connections. It might be through the Carrero since there are Matías Carrero who likely are cousins of your grandfather. My Rosado are from the northeastern side of the island,

I also have Rodríguez from San Germán and Ponce. So, too soon to say.

Keep adding to the tree.

P.S. Change Las Pierdas to Las Piedras ;o)

Danielle, your grandfather Domingo's parents were Francisco MATÍAS VEGA (son of Manuel Matías Rosado and Micaela Vega Rodríguez) and Mariana RODRÍGUEZ MATÍAS (daughter of Evaristo Rodríguez Colón and María Matías) Her record is here: http://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939Z-R2SX-63?cc=1682798&wc=9PTB-RM9%3A129441801%2C132764701 .

There are many reasons why a mother may not appear on her child's birth record: 1) She died in childbirth and the father did not name her 2) The unwed father recognized the child as his but did not name the child's mother 3) the registrar omitted her name 4) The mother was ill after birth and the father or declarant did not name her when registering the child 5) the name was illegible 6) and finally if the record was an original or a transcription and the record was badly damaged, in fragments, lacking important portions or eaten by insects, the mother's name may have been missing

Danielle:

Who are those grandparents you mentioned?

I seriously recommend that you order those birth certificates for your father & grandfather so that you are basing your search on the right people. It takes about two weeks to receive.

I do not move on to a next generation until I have at least two or more documented records for an ancestor or individual.

You & I are at least 4.1 generations from our common ancestor. My great grandparents were born in Utuado.

You also share DNA with my mother not only on her autosomal DNA but on the X chromosome, a different mode of transmisson from a direct ancestor. This likely is a totally different ancestor than the one contributing our matching autosomal DNA. You also share this autosomal DNA with my son.

Send private note with ph# to call you

Danielle, thanks for your note! I do hope we can smash some of your brick walls and get you researching in Puerto Rico. I mentioned you to a leading Puerto Rican researcher Dr. Ana Oquendo Pabón, who shares a bit of DNA with you.

Don't feel limited by what's already on the Puerto Rico project page - politicians are interesting, but it's fine to propose something else or try working with unsourced or orphaned ancestors. It might be fun to work with the Puerto Rico civil registers and census records available on FamilySearch with the expectation that you'll be able to use those skills on your own family members soon.

I did put us down for the Puerto Rico Politicians team just because the brand new Teams page needs some love. : )

Hi Danielle!

We are contacting all existing members of the project to find out how you would like to be involved. I'd love to hear what excites you about researching folks connected to Puerto Rico, and how the revitalization of the project might inspire you in 2018. Please have a look at the Puerto Rican Roots Project page for more information, and let me know what you’d like to do, or if you have any questions. We can then list your interests, help you join the team in the Google Groups forum for Puerto Rico, and give you any help you might need to get going.

Many thanks,

Karen
