Biography

Private Alfred Matsinger served in the United States Civil War.

Mustered out: July 14, 1865 (DOD)

Alfred was born 18 Mar 1847[1] in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States.[2][3][4]

Alfred was mustered into service in the Union Army on 23 Aug 1864 as a Private in Company A, 199th Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry for 1 year. He was mustered out with company 28 Jun 1865.[5][6]During his time in the service, the Regiment was engaged in the Appomattox Campaign, the pursuit of Lee and his surrender. [7][1][3]

He passed away 25 Dec 1928[1] at the Soldiers' Home Hospital in Los Angeles County, California, United States and is buried in Los Angeles National Cemetery. [4][8]
