Biography

Birth date of John Matteson January 2, 1734 CORRECTED. John Matteson was actually born on the date of October 19, 1728 in the location of East Greenwich, Kent, Rhode Island

Research Notes

There is a birth record for a John Matteson born on October 29, 1728 and a marriage record for a John Matteson to a Comfort Weaver in 1749.

This profile seems like a different John Matteson, so maybe the birth date of January 2, 1734 is correct. That might mean the father of the John Matteson born in 1734 is not the same Henry Matteson. And the listed father can't be the father of this person in any case.

There were at least 3 Henry Mattesons in this family. The Henry Matteson listed as father in this profile died in 1690. He has a son Henry Matteson Jr. (1670 - 1752) and a grandson Henry Matteson III ((1696 - 1754).

If it's true that Joshua Matteson (1757-1852) is his son ==> death date 1753 must be wrong !!!!! Changed to "after 1757"

This John can not be the son of Henry, Henry died in 1690 and did not have a son John.
