Alice is listed in the Visitation of the County of Devon, 1564 as the daughter of Edward Mathew, of Dodbrooke, gent, and his first or second wife, Cicily, daughter of Thomas Reynell, of Malston, gent. and the wife of Philip Courtney of Powderham.[1] No dates are given in this genealogy.
According to the "Fleiner Study" on RootsWeb, by Sharon Fleiner, Alice was born ca. 1500 and married Philip Courtenay in 1523 in Molland Parish, Molland, Devonshire, England. The couple lived in Molland and had the following 8 children: [2]
Alice (Mathew) Courtenay of Molland died and was buried in Molland, Co. Devon, England, sometime after 1536 and before her husband's death in 1548.
