JOSEPH "ROY" MATTINGLY SR., 71, died Saturday at his home. He was a native of St. Francis and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: his wife, the former Vivian Meihaus; two daughters, Carolyn Gnau and Valerie M. Carsey (Casey); three sons, J. Roy Jr., Frank P. and Robert L. Mattingly; two brothers, Emmett and Lonnie Mattingly; three sisters, Clara Mattingly, Elizabeth Drury and Mary Louella Meyer; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral: 11 A.M. Tuesday, St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1405 Techny Lane. Entombment: Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation: Pearson's, 149 Breckinridge Lane, 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Sunday and Monday. Entombed, 1-29-1991, in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, Ky.
