Biography

Clement Mattingly / Matney was born 14 Feb 1739/40 in St. Marys Co., Maryland of Thomas Mattingly and Ruth Cole.

Clement Mattingly married on 22 Apr 1790 in Nelson Co., Kentucky to Sarah Brewer Allen (b. 1750-60) who married first David Allen. [1]

After his marriage Clement resided in Kentucky as Mattingly and then in Indiana as Matney. He died in 1838 in Brown Co., Indiana. [2] [3] [4]

Matney-12 and Mattingly-611 appear to represent the same person because: It appears this should be merged with Mattingly-611. The marriage license https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Matney-193-1 contract spells his name Mattingly twice but in his own hand he signs Matonly. Other sites support this individual being one and the same and indicate he had another wife. Descendants are searching for him with both names.

Billy, I would like to remove Clement Allen Mattingly-611 from the family where we find Clement Mattingly-384. They are not dups. Are you ok with this?

Matney-193 and Mattingly-611 appear to represent the same person because: To me it is obvious that the two profiles represent the same person.
