Lawrence “Larry” Howard Mattingly
MATTINGLY, Lawrence “Larry” Howard – Loving husband, father, grand father and friend, passed away October 10, 1997 at the age of 67. He was born March 4, 1930 in Cassville, Missouri and had been a resident of Sutherlin since July 1952, moving here from Wilder, Idaho. Larry married Della M. Hansen on December 8, 1951 in Wennemucka, Nevada. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Sutherlin Seventh Day Adventist Church. Larry loved to go camping, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Babe of Sutherlin; children Connie Sebastian of Myrtle Creek, Karen Hasbrouck of Junction City and Geri-Lupe Martinez of Sutherlin; his mother Mamie of Caldwell, Idaho; two sisters, Bessie Hibbard of Wilder, Idaho, Edith Lyle of Roseburg; one brother Kenneth Mattingly of Wilbur; grandchildren Mike Getz, Matt Getz, Mandi Mattingly, Rick Ouellette and Amy Martinez. Numerous children he considered grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 1997 at 1 p.m. in the Sutherlin Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Richard Harbour and Pastor Phil Dunham officiating. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Dorenbecker's Children Hospital and these donations may be left at the services or at the Chapel of the Firs in Sutherlin who are in charge of arrangements.
