Biography

Michael Mauck/Mauk was born between 1762-1765 and died in 1830 in Frederick Co., VA. He is the son of Frederick Mauck and Mary (Motlena) Mauck. Michael appears in the personal property tax lists of Frederick Co., VA yearly from 1783-1829. He passed away in 1830.

On October 21, 1788, in Frederick County, Virginia.Michael married Barbara Cryzer, daughter of Christopher and Elizabeth Cryzer, Barbara was born 30 May 1761, and was baptized 25 May 1770 in York Co., PA, and died before Apr 1830.

Barbara Mauck, born between 1788-1803 in Shenandoah Co., Virginia, married Abraham Supinger (d. Sep 1869) 12 Feb 1823 in Frederick Co., VA.

Jacob Mauck was born after 1788 and died after 1834.

Frederick George Mauck was born May 16, 1790, married Eve Klyne (d. Mar 1880) 30 Jul 1812 in Frederick Co., VA.

Maria Mauck, born 20 Feb 1799 in Frederick Co., VA, died 02 Mar 1866 in Harrodsburg, Monroe Co., IN, and was buried in Clover Hill Cemetery, Clear Creek Twp., IN. Maria married John Stip (d. 24 May 1857) 15 Dec 1816 in Frederick Co., VA.

Michael Mauck was born about 1802 in Winchester, Frederick Co., VA and died in 1883 in Columbia City, IN. Michael married Juliet Wilson (d. Abt 1886) 26 Feb 1829 in Frederick Co., VA.

Evelina Harriet Mauck was born about 1808 in VA and died in 1866 in Frederick Co., VA. Evelina Harriet married Solomon S. Harman (d. 07 Sep 1855) 11 Dec 1828 in Frederick Co., VA.

Michael's Will was written 31 Dec 1829 and probated 03 May 1830. The book "The Frederick George Mauck Family" by Lillian Virginia Davis, wife of the grandson of Frederick George Mauck, grandson of Michael and Barbara, lists Michael's death as 21 Apr 1830.

Michael's Will mentions land owned on Back Creek and Busch Creek in Frederick Co., VA. In a Frederick Co., VA deed dated 06 Mar 1832 (@18) Joseph Larrick and Solomon Harmon, executors for Michael Mauck, sold 174 acres on Busch Creek, a branch of Back Creek. This deed states Michael purchased this land 18 May 1824. In a Frederick Co., VA deed (@19) dated 18 May 1824 Michael purchased this land, which had been placed in his trust, after advertising it for sale in the Winchester Republican.

Mauk-35 and Mauck-53 appear to represent the same person because: Mauk-35 and Mauck-53 are the same person only last name spelling is different. Records show both spellings..
