Birth

Martha was born at Navarre Street in Ipswich St Margaret. [1] Her father was a millwright at the time. Martha was given her mother's maiden name as a middle name.

Marriage

Martha married Arthur in the Congregational Chapel in Ipswich St Margaret, when she and Arthur were around the age of twenty. Arthur was a painter and glazier.

On the Fifth day of September 1869 Arthur Amass Bachelor 20 years Plumber and Glazier of 16 Wishepole Street, Ipswich St Margaret and Martha Howgego Maulden spinster 18 years of 16 William Street Ipswich St Margaret were married at the Crown Street Congregational Chapel according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Independents in the presence of William Howgego and Emily Jane Pryke.

Brides father: Charles Maulden Engineer.

Martha H Amass passed away on 5 Oct 1946, aged 95 years. Her death was registered in Samford, Suffolk in the last quarter of the year.[3]

WILL 1 AUG 1929 District Registry, Her Majesty's Court of Probate, Ipswich, Suffolk, England. Will of Martha Howgego Amass widow. Proved 23 Nov 1946.[4]

  • "AMASS Martha Howgego of 245 Langer-road Felixstowe Suffolk widow died 5 October 1946 at Tattingstone Suffolk Probate Ipswich 23 November to William Charles Wright mill manager and John Edwin Wright of no occupation. Effects £191."[5]
