In 1851 Charles Mauldon (age 39, Millwright Journeyman) lived at 12 Navarre Street in Ipswich St Margaret with his wife Mary (44) and five children: Charles (11, Scholar), James (9, Scholar), William (5, Scholar), Frederick (3), and Martha (4 months).[4]
In 1861 Charles Mauldon (age 48, Millwright) lived at 16 William Street in Ipswich St Margaret with his wife Mary (50 [~54], Millwrights Wife) and five children: Charles J (21, Engine Fitter), James H (18, Carpenter Apprentice), William C (15, Tailor Apprentice), Frederick J (13, Scholar), and Martha H (10, Scholar).[5]
Charles was recorded twice on the 1871 census:
Charles Mauldon (age 58, Engine Fitter & Millwright) lived at 16 William Street in Ipswich St Margaret with his wife Mary (64, Engine Fitter & Millwright Wife), son William (26, Tailor), and servant Mary J Cadman (14, General Servant Domestic).[6]
Charles Mauldon (age 58, Millwright) and his son Fred (23, Millwright) were staying at the Bell Inn, Market Place in Clare, Suffolk.[7]
Charles' wife Mary Mauldon passed away in 1873.
Charles Mauldon married the widow Emma Gull (nee Watkins) in 1874. The marriage was registered in Ipswich in the second quarter of the year.[8]
In 1881 Charles Mauldon (age 58 [~68], Millwright) lived at Arcade St in Ipswich St Mary At The Elms with his wife Emma (52, Office Care Taker).[9]
In 1891 Charles Mauldon (age 77, Retired Millwright) lived at 7 Arcade Street in Ipswich St Mary At The Elms with his wife Emma (60).[10]
Charles' wife passed away in 1900:
"MAULDON Emma of Ipswich (wife of Charles Mauldon) died 29 December 1900 Administration Ipswich 8 February [1901] to the said Charles Mauldon retired mechanic Effects £225 13s. 8d."[11]
In 1901 Charles Mauldon (age 87, Mill Wright Retired) lived at 20 St Peters Street in Ipswich St Peter with his niece Elizabeth Cork (65, House Keeper Domestic).[12]
Charles Mauldon passed away on 12 May 1901, aged 87 years. His death was registered in Ipswich in the second quarter of the year.[13]
