Biography

Moree Gwydir Examiner, 2 Feburary 1933:
Wedding.
MAUNDER— McNAMARA.
A pretty wedding was celebrated in the Methodist-Presbyterian Church at Pallamallawa yesterday afternoon, by the Rev. H. Bloomfield, the contracting parties being Miss Elsie McNamara, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. McNamara. of Pallamallawa, and Mr. Francis John Maunder, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Maunder, of 'The Wilgas,' Pallamallawa.
Miss L. McNamara, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid.
The reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, there being about 100 guests present. The Rev. Bloomfield presided, and the usual toasts were honored. Later the young couple left by car for their honeymoon, which will be spent in a tour of the North Coast. [1]

North West Champion, Moree, Monday 8 Sep 1941:
Grazier's Tragic Death
"Francis John Maunder, grazier, of North Star, passed away in the Goondiwindi hospital yesterday afternoon, eleven days after he had met with the accident briefly referred to in a recent issue.
On Wednesday, August 27 last, the late Mr Maunder had loaded his truck with posts, and when travelling through scrub country one of the posts swung round and knocked him from the lorry. One of the wheels passed over his thigh, causing a severe fracture.
The deceased was 33 years of age, and was the son of Mr and Mrs J Maunder, of "The Wilgas" Pallamallawa.
In addition to his wife (formerly Miss McNamara) and his parents, he is survived by three brothers and four sisters ...."
Buried in the Methodist cemetery, Moree. [2]
