Ovide Pierre Maurice was born in 1882 on March 26th to Ovide Lovenski and Rosalie Pellerin. He had 4 siblings who were named Marguerite Oriental, Jules, Lovinsky Joseph, and Anthony. Ovide also had 14 (fourteen) other half-siblings. He recalled his father driving around with his horse and carriage on Sunday afternoons so that he could pick up all of the children from their various homes around New Orleans.

Ovide Pierre Maurice married Odile Marie Peralt Dec 13 1903. They had 4 children: Angele, Ovide Jr, Therese, and Yvonne. They moved to Los Angeles in the 1940s with Ovide Jr and his family. Papa Maurice was an excellent gardener. He grew incredibly delicious fruits and vegetables. He talked about hunting bears and getting bit by a rattlesnake.

Ovide Maurice Sr ... He passed away in 1970.
