Biography
[Obit] Robert Mavity died at his home on Halls Creek Apr.20,1901, age 69 years [2m. & 22d.](b.Jan.29,1832). He was a veteran of the Civil War[Co.G. 12th Ind.Inf.] and after his services in 1864, he crossed the plains and located at Redwood, Calif. where he remained a few years after which he came to Oregon and located at Central Point, Jackson County where he was united in marriage to Mrs. Missouri McVay who survives him. In 1888 he came to Coos County and settled on Halls Creek. Buried in Myrtle Point Cemetery. (MPE-4/26/1901)
