Biography

William was born in 1809. He was the son of John Maxey and Isabella Holcombe.

William married Malinda Sherry, aka Cherry, on 08 Nov 1829 in Warrick county, Indiana.[1] They had a large family.

They were on the census in Ohio township, Warrick, Indiana in 1830.[2]

In 1850 and 1860, William and Malinda and children were in Hart, Warrick, Indiana.[3][4]

Malinda passed away in early 1870. William was listed later in the year on the Warrick, Indiana census with his children.[5]

He was living in the household of son Andrew Jackson Maxey in Owen township, Warrick, Indiana in 1880.[6]

He passed away in 1888. He was buried in Old Friendship cemetery in Warrick county, Indiana.[7]

Research Questions

In addition to the listed children, some ancestry trees list a son Silas Maxey born 04 Jun 1846. Silas was not on the 1850 census. Are there records for Silas to confirm he was a member of the family?
