Samuel Maxfield was born between 1639 and 1643, probably in Dorchester, MA, the son of Clement Maxfield and Mary Denman. There is no birth record found.
Samuel married Mary Davenport in Dorchester in 1671. [1]
Samuel signed the petition of Dorchester citizens on 19 Oct 1664 recognizing royal authority, but advocating freedom from religious conformity for New England. He served along side his father in King Philips's war, at Punkapauge, 24 Apr 1676.
They had about 10 children. She died in 1691 and he married second Christian Pootter or Potter on 11 Dec 1691.[1]
Samuel died around March 1704 in Dorchester, age around 61.
