Walter was the fourth child born to Thomas and Susanna (Weeks) Maxted.
He married Mary Jane Hall [d/o Henry & Mary (Amos) Hall] on 24 Nov 1878.
Walter and Mary had two girls - Ethel Maud and Mabel Lillian.
Walter was employed as School Assistant in Apr 1871 (Census,) as House Decorator in the Apr 1881 - 1891 Censuses, and as Painter & Paperhanger in the Mar 1901 Census.
Walter was the great grandfather of Peter Stuart, who has spent many years researching the genealogy of this line. (see Stuart-5525)

G. Steven Maxted, the profile manager of this and many other MAXTEDs on WT, was also born exactly 100 years after Walter Maxted's birth date, on 18 Jan 1956. Walter was the half-brother of Steve's second great grandfather Thomas Maxted, so therefore Steve is Walter's second great grand nephew.
