Hazel Mott Maxwell was born on 30 May 1898 in Midgic, Sackville, Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Wilbur Clayton Maxwell (1869 - 1924) and Ida Mae Frances (Hicks) Maxwell (~1871 - 1954).
