Captain Robert Maxwell was the son of Reverend Henry Maxwell and Anne Stewart.
He was educated by Mr Harvey of Dungannon and entered Trinity College Dublin on 2 February 1706/07, aged 14. B.A. 1711[1]
He married Grace Leavens, daughter of Reverend John Leavens.
He also had three sons, who all died unmarried. He gained the rank of Captain of Horse. He lived at Fellows Hall, Tynan, County Armagh, Ireland.
