"Greenville, Hunt Co., Texas, Saturday, November 5, 1938:

Mrs. Etier Dies Friday, Owner of "Your Home Hotel Succumbs Friday After Long Illiness.

Mrs. Ruthie Anderson Etier, 81, prominent Greenville woman and for many years owner of "Your Home Hotel" on East Washington Street, passed away at nine o'clock Friday morning after a long illness. She died at her home, 2401 Washington Street which is located on the site where she first resided upon moving here as a bride in 1880. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Wesley Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Paul Stephenson, pastor. Burial will follow in East Mount Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Judge T. D. Starnes, J. M. Spurlock, Ben Anderson, Will P. Reeves, Dudley Denney and B. R. Brown.

Mrs. Ruth Anderson Etier nee Ruthie Maxwell, was born January 29, 1857 in Lamar County, being the

daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Maxwell, pioneers of that section.

She was married to James Fletcher Anderson on February 18, 1880, and they moved to this city, building a log home on the lot where her present home and hotel is located.

Three Children were born to their union, tow of whom preceded her in death, a son Lucius and a daughter Ethel. Her husband also prededed her in death in 1917.

In 1924, she was married to Amos Franklin Etier and he passed away in 1934.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. L. L. Danner, of Dallas and two grandchildren, James L. and Helen Danner, as well as a number of nieces and nephews and serveral stepchildren.

For more than 50 years she had been a faithful member of the Wesley Methodist Church. The outstanding Christian spirit with which Mrs. Etier was blessed was seen in her everyday life as she was about doing for others and striving to make this a better world to live."
