Biography
Johann Herman and Maria and their children left Germany aboard the immigrant ship "Pearl" which sailed from Rotterdam on June 6, 1752 bound for Halifax, Nova Scotia. Johann Hermann's brother, Johann Wilhelm and his family were also aboard the same ship. The "Pearl" arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia on August 22* with 212 surviving passengers - 39 had died. [1] (* Gregorian calendar which we use today Britain still used the Julian calendar at that time.)
Unfortunately both Johann Herman and his wife Maria Magdalena died during the voyage. Some children survived however information is difficult or non-existent for the children and I have been unable to trace their descendants.
