On 2 August 1870, Richard F. Bare's marriage to Louisa May was recorded in Lawrence County, Ohio. Richard Bear's mother, Martha Bear, gave consent for the marriage and his brother General H. Bare was bondsman. [1]There was also a wedding announcement in the Ironton paper. "MARRIED BEAR-MAY---At the Court House, Aug 2d by Esq. Golden, Mr. Richard F. Bear and Miss Louisa May; all of Lawrence Co. [2]NOTE: Richard's sister, Minerva Bare married Rolen May. It is not known if he was related to Louisa May.
