The Will of Frederick Mayberry II

In the name of God Amen I Frederick Mayberry Senior of the County of Hamilton and State of Illinois Being Sickley and weak in Body But of Sound mind and disposing Memory (for which I thank God) and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life And being disirous of desposing of all Such worldly estate as it has pleased God to Bless me with. I give and devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and Terms. First I give and Bequeath to my beloved Wife Priscilla Mayberry all my house hold furniture and four milk cows and calves if they have any calves including ten head of choice cattle altogether. Ten head of sheep and eight breeding sows. And full possession of my house and farm including forty acres of Land so as to cover the farm and Buildings. But she is not to prevent my son William Maybery from cultivating the farm for her support and his family. If she thinks that her son William Mayberry should be unruly or wasting the estate She has the priviledge of choosing any other person to attend her farm and see to her Business. And I allow her four head of horse Beasts and She is to have choice of all the horses that I have But then she must give to Carrol Greffith when he becomes of the age of twenty one years and lives with her and behaves himself well to her Reasonable satisfaction one horse worth sixty dollars and two suits of common cloths for his dues. all the personal property after her death that she has I desire that it be equally divided among all my children Viz Solomon Mayberry, Elizabeth Neal, Jesse Mayberry, Anna Hardesty, Frederick Mayberry, George Mayberry, Priscilla Wheeler, Jacob Mayberry, Job Mayberry, Lucinda Gholson, Polley Georges, David K. Mayberry, Henderson Mayberry and William Mayberry. Secondly after (my funeral and expenses) are paid to my wife I give and bequeath -------- Mayberry and Lastly I do appoint my worthy friend Enos T. Allen executor to this my last will and Testament Revoking all others that I have heretofore made. In ---- whereof I have herewith set my hand and affixed my Seal this 20th day of September 1839.

Clark a credible witness who being by me duly sworn on his oath says that xxxx he was present and saw the within named Frederick Mayberry ---- acknowledges the ? of the last will and Testament in his presence that he believed and still believes that the said Frederick Mayberry was of sound mind and memory at the time of signing the same and that he witnessed the signing of said last will and testament in the presence + by the request of the said Frederic Mayberry Sr and in the presence of NS. Gholson the other subscribing witness. xxxx In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my private seal there being no public seal provided this ---------------------- R.
