RALPH H. MAYBERRY Funeral services for Ralph H. Mayberry, 79, were held Friday, Feb. 26, at the Raynor Lett & Kent Funeral Home. Mr. Mayberry died of a sudden heart attack while sitting in his car in front of the home of his son, J. H. Mayberry in Glenwood last Wednesday. Clergyman at the service was Rev. Charles E. Cowell, Jr., and interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery. Music was provided by Mrs. Herman Vohs and Mrs. Dean Dusenberry, with Mrs. Donald Hirst in charge of the register book. Casketbearers include Wayne Boles, D. D. Davis, J. D. Dwyer, Rogas Jackson, Edwin Ross and Willard Stivers. Flowerbearers were Susan Hokanson, Janine Needham, Carol Scott and Laurie Mayberry. Ralph H. Mayberry, son of Louis and Emma Evans Mayberry, was born in Mills County, on May 2, 1891. On June 27, 1917, Ralph was united in marriage to Edith Kinney, and from this union there were seven children, two sons and five daughters. Ralph was a life-long resident of Mills County, and most of his adult life, until the past ten years, during which he was retired, he engaged in farming, while, at the same time for years he was a township Assessor for the Office of the County Assessor. He worked for ten years at the Glenwood State Hospital-School, Ralph had been a member of the First Christian Church, Glenwood, for the past fifty years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith by his parents, his brother, Shirley; two sisters, Clara Mayberry and Florence Potter, and his daughter Margaret Emily, who died in infancy. Ralph is survived by his two sons, J. H. and Forrest, Glenwood; four daughters: Mrs. Don (Catherine) Jackson, Charlottesville, Va; Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Scott, Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Gene (Emma) Gilson, Glenwood; and Mrs. James (Beth Ellen) Needham, Sioux City, Iowa. Surviving also are 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, Ralph's sister, Mrs. Warren Sawyer, Glenwood, and Ralph's brother, Paul Mayberry, Co. Bluffs.
