Hester and Herbert married after 4 days from their 1st meeting.
Note: "I do know that at one time, Grandma had some actual pictures of Abraham Lincoln and General Grant and a Civil War soldier. She had kept them in a shoebox in her closet and I remember one time in 4thgrade, she let me bring them to school for show and tell. We do have a little interesting piece of history associated with the pictures. Grandpa Maybery's father died and his mother, Nora, remarried a man by the name of Alvin Todd, who was the uncle to Mary Todd Lincoln. The pictures were handed down to Grandpa from his mother/stepfather."

Note: "When Grandma got out of the orphanage, she went to look for a job and was looking for a room to rent. I don't know how she found out about Nora's place but that is where she wound up. She and Grandpa met on a Wednesday. It must have been love at first site. As Grandma told me, after dinner he asked her if she wanted to go out for a walk and she did. Same thing the next night. The night after that, again a walk and then he said, "Do you want to get married?" So after only knowing each other 3 days, they got married on the 4th day, May 1, 1925. They were married a little over 41 years before he died."
