Obituary - MR. A. A. J. MAYBUBY.

Mr Albert Alfred Maybury, of Tullibigeal, and for many years a resident of Narromine district, died suddenly at his home on Sunday morning last. Deceased, who was 50 years of age, had always enjoyed fairly good health but complained on the Saturday afternoon that he was not feeling well and on Sunday morning he collapsed whilst reading at the table. After medical aid had been summoned he rallied, but took a turn for the worse shortly afterwards and passed away. The cause of death was heart failure. The remains were brought to Narromine on Monday and placed in the Church of England overnight. An impressive service was conducted next morning by the Rev. Woodger, of Warren, after which the casket was interred in the Church of England portion of the Narromine cemetery. Many beautiful wreaths were placed in the hearse and the cortege, which was a long and representative one, bore testimony of the esteem in which deceased was held. The late Mr. Maybury was a member of the Masonic fraternity at Tullibigeal and a number of the brethren of his Lodge accompanied the remains to the last resting place, and also acted as pall-bearers. These, with many members of the local Lodge, marched behind the hearse after entering the cemetery gate. At the conclusion of the service, Wor. Bro. J. Steele, of Lodge Tullibigeal, read the Masonic service. Deceased was born at Tallawang, near Mudgee, and came to Narromine when a lad of 14 years, and resided with his parents at "Rocky Point." His aged father, who was present at the graveside, is one of Narromlne's most respected pioneers, and deceased assisted him in farming and grazing pursuits. Later when his father retired, he carried on the farm with another brother, Reg, who answered the call and paid the Supreme Sacrifice in the Great War. Deceased afterwards acquired property at Tullibigeal where he resided until his death. The late Mr. Maybury leaves a sorrowing widow and a family of seven children, of which five are boys and two girls, to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father, and for these the deepest sympathy is felt. Besides the father, other relatives are: Eddie and Clarrie (Tullibigeal) and Eric (Harden), brothers; Mrs Bocking (Moss Vale) and Mrs Klintworth (Tullibigeal), sisters. All members of the family were present for the last sad rites. Mrs Maybury, Senr., died about 3 years ago in Sydney, and is buried in the local cemetery.[1]
