Obiturary and Tribute

Olriginal text for obituaries:[12]

MOOMAUGH, MICHELE
A STRONG, TALENTED, AND WARM WOMAN ADMIRED BY MANY AROUND THE WORLD (HEADLINE)
Kaye Michele Moomaugh (Mayer), 67, was born October 21, 1939 in Bend Oregon. She passed away June 2, 2007 in an automobile accident near her home of four years; Bajamar, Baja California, Mexico.:
Michele was the only child of Reece Edward Mayer and Maxine Arnold Mayer. Her parents returned to Emmett, ID, where she grew up and graduated from Emmett High School in 1958. Friends in Oregon and Idaho knew her a "Mike." Her higher education included a Bachelors' of Art from the University of Idaho, Moscow, ID in English, Social Studies, and Radio-Television. She was also a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority at U of I. She graduated from Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR with a Master's Of Education in Personnel Administration and Counseling.
Michele's education and free spirit took her to many places and varied job opportunities, these included: being a high school English teacher from 1966 to 1970 at Lakes High School, Tacoma WA. She was also a Head Resident, 1970 to 1972, AT Oregon State University while doing her graduate work and raising two children as a single mom. Michele then went on to work as the Assistant Dean of Students, 1972 to 1973, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas. In 1973 she returned to teaching and taught high school English at the ACSC U.S. Department of State school, LaPaz, Bolivia. From 1975 to 1976, she was the Assistant Executive Director for Colegio Valle Verde, Guatemala City, Guatemala. From 1976 to 1978, she was the Student Personnel Director for William Wood College, Fulton, Missouri.
In 1978, Michele moved to San Diego and worked as Project Manager until 1980 for Social Advocates for Youth, San Diego. She then became an ESL (English Second Language) Instructor at Mira Costa College in Oceanside, CA. She worked as an Organization Effectiveness Specialist, City of San Diego, until 1988 when Michele and former associate Robin Reid, formed the partnership of Reid Moomaugh & Associates based out of San Diego, California working many places throughout the United States as Organization Development Consultants.<
Michele was the epitome of grace and strength and tact. Her impact on people and organizations is legendary. Working successfully in male dominated client systems, she achieved the respect and admiration of her clients and colleagues. She was able to facilitate agreement in numerous touchy situations and to patiently teach clients leadership skills. Many of her female colleagues and protoges considered her to be a wonderful role model.
Michele is survived by two half brothers, Gary Mayer, London, England, and Edwin Mayer, Medford, OR, and many aunts and uncles in Idaho and Oregon. Surviving also are her husband, Edward M. Brewer, Bajamar, Baja California, Mexico, former husband, Edward Moomaugh, San Francisco, CA, son, Jeffry Hart Moomaugh, Tucson, AZ, daughter, Shirlee Ann Brewer, Reno, NV, son, Kristian Michael Brewer, Glenco, OH, son-in-law Max Norvell, Anchorage, AK, 2 grandsons Jac Moomaugh-Norvell and Brock Kristian Brewer.
Michele was preceded in death by her father, Reece Mayer, May 2006, and her daughter, Stacia Reece Moomaugh, Ankorage, AK, February 12, 2007. Michele was cremated at the San Ramon Mortuary, Rosarito, Mexico.
According to Michele's wishes, three "celebrations of life" will be held in her honor, one at Bajamar, Mexico, one in San Diego, CA, and in Emmett, ID where she will be interred in the Mayer family plot. It seems so inadequate to condense one's life into a few lines of accomplishments she was and will always be more than that. Please contact Ed Brewer through his email address (...@....com) to get dates, times, and locations as they become finalized.[13]

A tribute to Michele:[14]

Michele Moomaugh
"Yesterday, I posted about one of the many reasons that I love writing fiction: It’s nice to have total control over something. Today was one of those days when I’m reminded I have no control over much of anything.
When I lived in San Diego many years ago, I was part of a small women’s support group. We met every other week, rotating between our houses, sharing with the sort of intimacy that women are so fortunate to enjoy. Michele Moomaugh was one of those women. To me, she was inspirational." . . . .
"The world lost her this past weekend in an automobile accident. I’m still reeling from the news, and it’s hard to write fiction when reality is so impossible to set aside."

Hey,

During my Data Doctor rounds, I noticed this profile is on my check-up list for Suggestion 586 - Linked to a merged Memorial ID for Find A Grave. You can read more about this here on the help page for this suggestion: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:DBE_586

I sent you a Private Message with the corrected citation and template for the new memorial. If you will, please copy and paste that citation from the PM and replace the old link. Also, please delete any reference to the old memorial as it will continue to generate a suggestion error. You will only need the new citation on the profile.

The profile is locked, so I cannot make the changes. I appreciate your help and please let me know if I can help you in any way!

Thanks,

Sheila
