Dear John,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in with project members. Please review the following and respond to let us know that you are content with your current team or if you would like to be more involved.

The Project operates in a team structure. There are currently three participant PIP Teams -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

There are currently three different Biography Teams - The Biography Team, the Abandoned Team, and the Popular Team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team. The Biography Team works on profiles from their watchlist and other profiles that interest them. Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup. We use the WikiTree Discord server #profile-improvement channel for our project. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

Hi Debi, Kay and Robin,

Thanks for your check-in.

At the moment, I am happy to continue in the Biography Team. My main focus is on upgrading and developing the profiles in my Watchlist. There is a lot of work to do there, as many of them were prepared in the early days of my membership of WikiTree. Most months, I manage to do at least one profile as a Sourcerer.

Another issue is that I am getting on in years and have many close-family archives to work on. If I don't process them and preserve them for future generations soon, my ability to do so may decrease, and they may be lost forever. I am utilising Permanent.org for much of this work. The consequence of that work is, unfortunately, lower output in WikiTree.

I am pleased to be part of the PIP team and for the support it provides.

Kind regards

John

Hi john,

A little while ago I sent you a private message regarding your request to join the PIP Voyage, I've searched my inbox but I could've missed it. Would you let me know what you think?

Kindest regards ~ Pam

Hi John,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz! Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential.

To find a project that may fit your research interests and provide opportunities to collaborate and contribute to our global tree, please use the Pre-1700 Projects list.

Please refer to the new recommended sources for citing Pre-1700’s sources. when working on profiles of that time period.

For questions, just ask.

Hello John!

You've been a member for a few weeks so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!

I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Welcome back John

I am pleased to confirm you as a full member, and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

I would suggest starting with the https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:New_Member_How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site, and find many cousins you never knew existed.

Happy tree climbing

Karen ~ WikiTree Greeter

Welcome!

This is just a note to say hello and to let you know that I'm available to answer questions about WikiTree.

To contact me, click the link to my name, then send a private message or post a comment on my profile page.

Gilly ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.
