L. M. Mayes' Confederate Pension Application #11833 shows he filed in Burnet Co., TX. He was in Co. C., Duff's 33rd Texas Reg., Barns Brig., Calv. Mortuary Warrant shows he died 8 Oct 1929 at the Confederate House, Travis Co. The Warrant was signed by a daughter Mrs. Urban (?) Sprenger.
Lorenzo Mayes was born in November 1838 in Missouri, his father, **John, was 31 and his mother, **Elizabeth, was 27. He married **Joanna Sheppard on February 3, 1859, in Travis, Texas. They had 11 children in 29 years. He died on October 8, 1929, at the age of 90.
