Biography

When William Mayfield was born about 1784, his father, James M. Mayfield and his mother, Nancy Gore (1750-1795). He died on December 24, 1841, in Washington, Arkansas, at the age of 57.

  1. William Mayfield was born probably in Virginia, to James Mayfield and Nancy Gore.
  2. William died on January 1, 1842 in Washington County, Arkansas at the age of 58.
  3. Mayfield”s Will was probated in January 1842. The Will names Sutherland, a brother; William Arthur Mayfield, a nephew, (as a son of Sutherland); Ellender Sharpe, a sister ( wife of John Sharpe); Micajah and Adam Sharpe, nephews ( Sons of Ellender Mayfield Sharpe): and James Mayfield as Executor of the Will.
