A likely child of Ambrose Mayfield was Solomon Mayfield. Solomon entered militia service in 1811 in Rutherford Co., TN. He then appeared in the 1820-1840 censuses of Warren Co., TN and then apparently died in 1848. He is believed to have married Nancy Riddle/Riddell on 6 Jan 1816 in Warren Co., TN. Intriguing is the fact that in 1830, Solomon had a male member of his household who was listed as being 90-99 years old! Who was that? Was that Ambrose?
Solomon's widow [apparently called "Mary" at times] and her household seem to appear in the 1850 census of Warren Co., TN and in the 1860 census of Ruddell, Independence, Arkansas. Mary's household in 1850 contained a male named Ambrose Mayfield [Jr.?], age 22, and an Ambrose L. Mayfield [III?], age 2.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Solomon by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Solomon:
