Theophilus Mayhew was born about 1703, presumably at Chilmark on the island of Martha's Vineyard of Massachusetts Bay (the birthplace of his siblings); he was a son of John and Mehitable (Higgins) Mayhew. He married first Hannah Freeman of Harwich, on Cape Cod, at Boston in late 1742; and following her death, married second, Sarah (Tilton) Mayhew -- widow of his cousin Benjamin; but he died shortly before their son, also Theophilus, was born in 1752.

Mayo-1215 and Mayhew-1566 do not represent the same person because: I believe these represent different individuals. Both parents are different. Different DOB AND DOD. Only 5he first names are the same. Mayhew has valid Vital Records for birth , death and marriage available.
Thanks, Michael -- you beat me to the punch: I manage Mayhew-1566 (a maternal 1st cousin -7x), and I just drafted a full explanation of how completely distinct these two men are... but by the time I'd finished and tried to post it, you'd already rejected the match from your side. :o)
Theophilus Mayhew was a great great grandson of the original European proprietor of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, Thomas Mayhew, Sr. -- one of my 8th great grandfathers. The tree of Theophilus Mayo, OTOH, shows him to have been a mainland Mayflower descendant... two totally different lineages.
