Joseph Maynard was probably born at Sudbury, Massachusetts, about 1695, the son of Zachariah Maynard and Hannah (Goodrich) Maynard. His birth is not recorded. W, E. Gould lists him between Elizabeth Maynard (born in 1692) and Moses Maynard (born in 1697) in his list of Zachariah and Hannah Maynard's children and calls him the seventh child; however, he does not show Mary, who was actually the sixth child, and Joseph is this (if Gould has placed him accurately) the eighth child.[1] Gould included Joseph among the sons to whom he says Zachariah deeded land[2] and in a list of children who signed a release of their rights to their brother Moses in February 1723.[3]
Marriage
Joseph Maynard married Miriam Willard at Sudbury, Massachusetts, on 28 Jan 1722/23.[4]

Joseph Maynard died at Sudbury, Massachusetts, on 6 Feb 1761.[5]
