===I was born in the Deaconess hospital in Evansville, Vanderburgh. Indiana. My parents were already divorced. My father was in the army. He had been married before. When mom brought me home from the hospital, Grandma Kitties answered the door one day and the young lady said I want to see my baby sister. Turned out she was my half sister Lorraine Maynard. She was only 6 years younger than mom. I have tried to find her, but no success. She was married twice, and mom didn't know her married names. Like mom, one of her marriages wasn't real good. ===
I lived with 3 uncles, grandma, and mom. Uncle Johnny was in some sort of military outfit. He was sent to Guam, I guess for rebuilding. Uncle Jim was overseas, fighting some of his own relations in Germany. Uncle Fred, Uncle Miller and Uncle Charley were at home, mom worked and grandma babysat me.
Grandma passed when I was 2 1/2.Aunt Laura and her family moved into the house and by the time I was 3, mom and I moved out. Aunt Laura had several children, and her and mom didn't get along too well. Aunt Laura was the oldest daughter in this marriage and mom was the youngest. Uncle Jim was the baby of the family.
Mom and I soon moved to Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. where my Aunt Ruth lived. She found work at the same place and life went on. Aunt Ruth and Uncle Siegel (I'm not sure of spelling) were a big part of my life. They had no children. Mom and I lived in a few different rooming houses.
In 1950, we were living in one and a neighbor introduced her to a man, Edgar T. Sipes, who eventually became my step father. All of a sudden, I had a new family. I had an older sister, 5 older brothers (2 deceased) and a younger sister, only 11 1/2 months younger than myself. I also have 4 half brothers ( 1 deceased and another deceased step brother). I have no idea how many half siblings from my dad's side. There are a few, my aunt Laura, looked up some of them and told me when I got older. One she actually talked to ,didn't want anything to do with anyone of dad's family. I am the curious type and have always wondered about things. Also since I was basically an only child for so long, I felt like I didn't belong. So here I am in genealogy looking for my ancestors.
Sources are personal knowledge and what I was told by family members.

Please add any data to the Maynard and Priddy profile pages, and sources would be a VERY nice addition.
Hello Fran, I just read the comment you left on my profile. I was touched by your biography, and hoped to help you find your sister. I am so sorry she passed before you had the chance to reach out to her. Thank you for the kind words. You are very welcome!
