John Maynard came from England to Massachusetts. These sources don't provide specific birth information or parents.
He was in Sudbury in 1640, and is listed as one of the original 1644 proprietors, accepted as a freeman in 1644, and appeared on the petition for the founding grants of Marlborough in 1656[1]
His first wife is not known [2], but his eldest son came with him from England:
John, the eldest son[3], who lived in Marlborough, married Mary Gates[4], and died December 22, 1711[5][1]
On June 16, 1645, he married Mary Unknown, the widow of Thomas Axtell[4][1][2], and their children included:
Zachariah, born June 7, 1647[6][1], who married Hannah Goodridge[7], and was the executor of his father's estate[3]
Elizabeth, born May 26, 1649[8], who married Joseph Graves[3][9][1]
Lydia, born circa 1651, the wife of Joseph Moore[3][10][1]
Hannah, born Sept 30,1653[11][1], who was not mentioned in her father's will[1], and who married John Hayden of Charlestown[12],
Mary, born August 3, 1656[13][1], the youngest daughter[3], who married Daniel Hudson[4][14]
John died December 10 1672 in Sudbury[15][1], and his estate was administered on April 1, 1673[3]
