Biography
Asa Maynard, son of Antipas and Sally (Rice) Maynard was born in Sullivan, New Hampshire August 14, 1804. [1][2]
He married June 4, 1828 Rhoda Thompson who was born in Swanzey Sept 6, 1804. [1][3]
They resided in Keene, New Hampshire [4]and Orange, Massachusetts. [5][1]
They came to Marlborough in 1846 and purchased the tavern-stand of Robert Carpenter where Asa kept on of the best public-houses in the state. This he sold to George Thatcher and returned to Orange. [1][6]
After a short residence there, Asa moved to Keene, New Hampshire where he died Sept 6, 1872. [7] His widow still resides in Keene. Asa was a deacon of the Congregational Church in Keene and was a man universally respected. [1]
