DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
Queens Ridge Cemetery is near the Lincoln/Logan/Wayne County lines (come together here). It is near Cabwaylingo State Park. Take State RTE 10 south from Huntington to Logan to Atenville, make a right hand turn onto Little Harts Creek Rd. and travel paved country roads and reach the cemetery. (taken from West Va. Cemetery Preservation Assoc., Inc page
Now, there is a very bad break in the road to get to the cemetery. I turned back (too dangerous). I was told this weekend that the State was supposed to come and see the slip. Don't waste your time unless you have an ATV...
Hi Diane, James Maynard Sr., is my maternal 4x great grandfather on both sides of my mother's parent's lines, as one of her parent's descends from James Maynard Jr (b.1807-bef.1880 Wayne Co., WV) married Sophia Spry in Pike Co., KY in 1830, and my mother's second parent's line descends from Jesse Maynard and Sarah/Sally Welch. Both lines descend from one of their oldest daughters that are documented throughout Wayne and Lincoln Counties of WV, and these two Maynard daughters were first cousins and lived within close proximity to one another. I have done DNA and my information is at the top left of the DNA listings. Have you completed DNA? I still reside in southwestern WV. Thanks
I'm sorry. I haven't been on this site for a while. Yes, My DNAA168044 Ancestry and family tree B337972, GED match B3908309. My Stone male member (related to James) is John Stone FamilyTreeDNA is B3909309... He is my great nephew.
Diane, you have listed yours and your nephew's Gedmatch Kit number as the same number. When I input the B3908309 into Gedmatch to do an one to one Autosomal comparison, it stated that that kit number did not exist in Gedmatch's database. I will try the other numbers, but I wish for clarification, please. Thanks. My gedmatch is EN3253284.
Thanks,
Arthur.....
