IMMIGRATION. Mar 1910. On the OTWAY.

(Mar 1910). IMMIGRATION. SMALL-POX ON MAIL STEAMER. Perth, March 23. On inquiry this morning it was ascertained that the boy William Buhrim, aged 10 years, who landed from the R.M.S. Otway yesterday, having contracted small-pox, was progressing satisfactorily at Woodman's Point quarantine station. Although the first the passengers who bad booked to land here were by no means favourable to undergoing the term of quarantine, they have now settled down to their temporary home. This morning a report from Woodman's Point stated that the contingent were in a happy mood, and passed the time away by cricket matches and other sports. In some respects the quarantine ground presents the appearance of a pleasure resort. The passengers will be detained for 21 days unless the department issues a special order for their release. Subjoined is a list of the passengers for Western Australia by the Otway, who are quarantined:— . . . Mr. T. Mayo, . . .
