Biography

Birth

No record has been found of the birth of Abigail Mayo. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Mayo and Mercy (Cole) Mayo.^[1] Her mother was born in 1716^[2] and thus could have borne children through the 1750s. Abigail's last known child was born in 1797, so she was probably born no earlier than 1752, If Abigail was born, say, in 1757, she would have been 24 at her marriage in 1781, and that is a reasonable estimate for her birth date.

Marriage

Abigail Mayo married Peter Burgess at Eastham, Massachusetts, on 25 Jan 1781.^[2][3] Abigail is named as Abigail Burgess in the will of her father, made in 1790.^[1]

Death

Abigail (Mayo) Burgess died in 1840.^[2]
