DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sara by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sara:
If this were indeed the mysterious Sarah who married Edmund/Edmond Freeman (IV) of Sandwich "about 1682", then she would need to be merged into Sarah Skiffe, retaining the Mayo surname in place of Skiffe. BUT... NEHGS shows this Sarah married a different Edmund Freeman, of Eastham, son of John; b. 1657; see (subscription needed) Edmund's birth: https://www.americanancestors.org/DB522/i/21073/314/1427086318 ; Edmund's marriage: "FREEMAN, Edmund (1657-1717/18, 1718, 1717?) & 2/wf Sarah [MAYO] (1660-1746); ca 1681; Eastham {MD 8:3, 66, 17:99, 29:32; Reg. 20:60, 61, 353, 47:475, 51:208; Ackley-Bosworth 28; Linnell-Snow 25, 30; Freeman 23, 28; Brewster 23; Dawes-Gates 2:361; Higgins" -- https://www.americanancestors.org/DB1568/i/21174/578/426886387 (subscription).
Hi all, this tree has errors. I need assistane to fix this tree. Sarah Mayo of MA who is the daughter of Samuel Mayo is not the wife of John Culpepper. Sarah Mayo the daughter of Edward Mayo from Barbados is. How can I delete my line from this tree? If you look at the dates of Frances Birth you will see the other errors.
Savage has Sarah Freeman listed in her father's (Samuel Mayo) will in 1700 (prvd. 1704); Sarah Mayo's birth is recorded as 19 Dec. (no year given?)on pg. 74, Record of the Commissioners of Boston, Births, Baptisms, Marriages and Deaths, 1883.
There would have to be a LOT of proof for me to accept another birth surname for her.
