John Loudon McAdam was born on 21 September 1756 at 22 Sandgate, Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland. He was the son of James McAdam of Waterhead and Susannah Cochrane.
He lived between 1770 and 1783 at New York, U.S.A..2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ayrshire.
He married Gloria Margaretta Nicoll.
He married Anne Charlotte Delancey in 1827.
He died in 1836.
