Biography

This profile is part of the McAdoo Name Study.

Thomas McAdoo, a farmer, age 40, together with his wife Esther McAdoo a spinner (of flax) age 30, and sons Joseph age 7; John age 4; and James age 3; all arrived in Port of New York from embarkation Port of Londonderry aboard the vessel Oceanus on 1 June 1838.

Research Notes The five McAdoo's in this family are each tagged as "AlphaMcAdoos" to denote their status as a documented first-arrival-family landing in North America from County Donegal, Ulster,Ireland.
