David was a soldier and was among the troops at Fort Bedford, April 12, 1759, Lieutenant First Battalion. (His captain was John McKnight whose commission was dated April 26, 1759. (Pennsylvania Archives). There are continuing military services records for David, including Lieutenant, April 20, 1759; Lieutenant April 20, 1759; Captain, April 19, 1760, and Captain, "Dead."
