Here is my family tree.
My 3rd great grandmother Nancy Poe gave birth to a son, (John A.) in 1819 while living with her parents John and Sally Wilson Poe in Franklin County, Kentucky. Their home was located in the Forks of the Elkhorn River area. Nancy subsequently married a Wm McAnally in 1823 and that couple had five or more children between them. John A. was raised by Wm McAnally as his own son and became John A. McAnally. To my knowledge John A.'s step child relationship to Wm McAnally was unknown until I took a YDNA test in 2006 and proved the line of descent was of a Jackson lineage and not the surname McAnally. Continued YDNA testing and time for other men of this Jackson lineage to also YDNA test it has developed a pedigree for me to my seventh great grandfather Samuel Jackson d. 1722 Stafford Co. VA.
I was born in the small town of Hymera, Indiana at the home of my maternal grandmother Martha Jane Collins Ingham. My Mother had lost her first child in Pontiac, Michigan a year or two before because of incompetents of the attending doctors. I was delivered by my paternal Grandmother, Ora Estella Farley McAnally. My Father was informed of my birth by telegram, he was working in Pontiac at the time, this was the big depression period. Martha Ingham had given birth to 13 children all of whom had lived to maturity. Estella
had given birth to seven children all of whom had lived to maturity, some of those births were in the wilds of South Dakota.

Hi my name is Paul Rockell, I-FT 79323 which is the haplogroup from which many Jackson descend. I am from German descent. Has anyone given consideration to your origins? I have a theory that we both maybe from Sarmatian heritage from the Danube river regions and possibly got sent to the UK by the Romans to forts on the border based at Ribchester and Chester among others. On leaving the service they married local girls and set about a new life. email me at [email address removed] and checkout Rockel families https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064728156194
I am most interested if anyone in the family has looked back that far! regards Paul.
John, when I try to merge Herndon 1681 and 2340, I get a warning indicating that they are siblings, but that they are too close in age. (less than 8 months apart). Can you take a look? Otherwise a lot of the biographical data on 2340 looks familiar to me.
Richard, seems strange to have brothers with the same given name. I have looked at the proposed merger and the details are numerous. Give me a day or so to get through with the entire listing. Back soon.
Richard, I'm still working on this. It is not easy. Rather than merging these two my preference would be for your Wm Herndon II to be stripped of his marriage to Mary Bohannon and the three children, posting them over to the Wm Herndon 2030. What that means is I can't prove if these are the same or different men at this time. So let this merge proposal stay as it is and I will come back if I ever find the answer to this puzzle. What record or source did you ever see that indicated a Wm Herndon b. in Smithfield, Isle of Wight? Were did that come from?
