Bernard was born about 1833-1844. He was the son of Felix McBride, farmer; and lived at Glenkeel (Glenchiel) as of 1868.
On 15 November 1868 at Plumbridge R.C. chapel, he married Sarah McBride also of Glenkeel, daughter of Edward McBride, farmer. Witnessed by Mary McBride and Edward Morris.

Research Notes
Age given as 56 on the 1901 census, 74 on the 1911 census and 80 on the death record 1913. This kind of variation in ages was normal for Irish Catholics for this time and place. The 1901 was usually younger than the true age; and 1911 usually accurate or older; because the old age pension was introduced in 1908 and people wanted to qualify for it, and would try to prove their age using a baptism or 1841/51 census search.
It seems to me this is NOT the same person as Bernard McBride also of Glashygolgan whose wife was Sophia, because Sophia has a distinct 1901 census, and both Bernards seem to have separate 1911 censuses.
